How can we reuse rainwater in the most sustainable and efficient way by considering the needs of the building and the garden of the Netherlands Consulate General in Istanbul?

The 2 days workshop aimed to discover and create potential solutions for excessive rainfalls due to climate change for the building and the garden of The Netherlands Consulate-General in Istanbul. One of the main purpose was bringing Dutch designers, engineers and water management professionals with Turkish relevant professionals to stimulate new connections through co creation.

We organized a co-design session about reuse of rainwater in partnership with Consulate General of the Netherlands. Participants from Turkey and the Netherlands from different disciplines have gathered to brainstorm session and co-designed for potential solutions for excessive rainfalls due to climate change in a two-day Water Storage workshop.

The participants divided 4 different groups and come up with 4 different projects and created prototypes of their projects and presented them to the curious participants and the Consul General of France and the Consul General of Italy as well.

From rainwater harvest to Rain Road.

In 2019 we designed and executed a co-design workshop around the question of the General Consulate of The Netherlands Istanbul how they could improve the water storage capacity at the consulate. During the co-design session, great ideas were generated that were inspired by best practices from the Netherlands.

Here you see the story of how the Rain Road project which ignited during our co-design sessions shaped.
